Sriwijaya Air has sent its CFM56-7 engine used in B737-NG aircrafts for maintenance at GMF. The commitment is stated in an agreement which was signed by the Director of Base Operation of GMF, Agus Sulistyono and the Technical Director of Sriwijaya Air, Ananta Wijaya on 12 February 2014 at the Singapore Airshow. Previously, Sriwijaya Air has entrusted the maintenance of its entire fleet to GMF AeroAsia. “The maintenance of the CFM56-7 engine is an increase in cooperation between GMF and Sriwijaya Air,” said Agus Sulistyono.
According to Agus Sulistyono, GMF capability in the maintenance of CFM56-7 engine up to the overhaul stage has obtained recognition from EASA in an annual audit which took place on January 2014. This capability further adds to the list of GMF capabilities in engine maintenance such as the CFM56-3, Spey, APU GTCT 85 Series, TSCP 700, and CFM56-7B up to the overhaul stage. “The capability development at GMF is conducted in accordance with the latest technology,” he said.
This collaboration proves that GMF AeroAsia is committed to develop its capability to meet the maintenance needs of national and global markets. Moreover the B737-NG is one of the aircraft which has the highest growth in Indonesia and other countries.
