An Indian carrier, Spice Jet, handed over two B737-NG aircrafts to GMF AeroAsia for C-check and additional item maintenance. Delivered to GMF in mid- April 2014, the two aircrafts will be returned to the lessor respectively on June and July 2014. “One of the aircraft also in painting processed,” said Rajesh Ferdinand Kusuma, the Account Manager and Sales of GMF.
According to Rajesh, both Spice Jet aircrafts will be leased by Pegasus Airlines (Turkey) and T’Way Airlines (South Korea). After the maintenance is accomplished, Spice Jet plans to send one or two more aircrafts to GMF around July 2014. Those aircraft will have a similar maintenance as the two previous aircrafts. “This year Spice Jet delivers four aircrafts to GMF,” he said. Previously, Spice Jet has delivered its fleet to GMF around five years ago. Rajesh said Spice Jet is an important carrier for GMF to increase market penetration in South Asia, especially India.
