The Directorate General of Customs of the Ministry of Finance granted an extension of Bonded Zone Facility for GMF AeroAsia. The three year extension was given after an audit on 2nd-29th December 2014, lead by an auditor, Tommy Erlando. “The audit is related to a thorough audit of airlines in Indonesia,” said Sis Handaya, GMF’s GM of Bonded Zone.
Since mid-2014, Customs has been conducting audits with aviation theme thus all domestic airlines are audited. The audit process is coordinated and consolidated directly by the Customs Headquarters in the Ministry of Finance. “There are significant findings from the audit of the aviation industry,” he said. These findings persuaded Customs to act by conducting audits on other companies related to the operation of Indonesian airlines.
As a maintenance provider for Garuda Indonesia and Citilink, GMF must be audited because the company handle 90% of both airline spare parts. “GMF actually has been audited by the Customs Regional Office of Banten, and the result is satisfactory,” he said.
