EASA Approves Additional B777 Training Capability of GMF

The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) approves additional EASA training class capability for B777 type rating applied by GMF AeroAsia. The approval was given after EASA auditor, Dominique Lissandres conducted an Aircraft Maintenance Training Organization (AMTO) 147 annual audit on GMF on May 6-8, 2015. The result conveyed if GMF also obtained approval to conduct EASA training classes outside GMF facility.

According to Yayan Heryana as GM Quality of GMF Learning Services, the three-day audit went well from the beginning until the final day. The auditor directly reviewed the practical simulation on Garuda Indonesia’s B777 aircraft and observed the performance of B747-400 type rating training in the classroom. EASA’s approval adds to the list of GMF Learning Services capabilities in organizing EASA training classes. Equipped with EASA AMTO 147, GMF is entitled to provide rating type trainings for B737-NG, B747-400, and B777 complied with European authority standard. “We will also apply for additional CRJ and ATR rating training,” he said.

EASA’s approval to conduct training outside GMF facility become an added value for the company because it facilitates customers in selecting GMF’s training services, especially GMF’s customers abroad. The EASA AMTO 147 approval strengthens GMF’s position as a World Class MRO of Customer Choice.
