Iran’s Aviation Authority Audits GMF

The Iran Civil Aviation Organization (CAO) sent three auditors to hold an audit in GMF AeroAsia which applied a maintenance rating of A320 aircraft for CAO. The rating application of A320 and APU GTCP 131-9B component maintenance is associated with the fleet maintenance plan of Atrak Air, an Iranian airline. GMF also applied for a maintenance rating of B737- Classic because the market for this type of aircraft is still quite considerable in Iran.

“We applied for two ratings in this initial audit,” said Wahyudin as GM of Engineering Service Quality System and Auditing. Approval from CAO is very important because GMF has a huge opportunity to handle the Iranian market.

Not only Atrak Air, ATA Air of Iran is also a customer of GMF. In the audit, the three auditors inspected various areas such as the structure shop, component shop, base maintenance hangar, engine shop,NDT and calibration workshop, main store, and tool store. Some documents related to quality system and procedure, maintenance record, engineering and planning, and personnel qualification is also audited.

“Overall the auditors are quite satisfied with the result of the audit,” said Wahyudin. The auditor also provided some recommendations regarding personnel roaster, storage tire, supplement MOE, and temperature humidity control to improve GMF’s product quality.
