EASA conducted an audit for GMF AeroAsia Design Approval Organization (DOA) initially since GMF DOA achieved EASA approval in 2014. Held on October 7th to October 9th 2015, the audit was performed by Daniel Martin Aguado as EASA Auditor and EASA DOA Team Leader for GMF. The audit items comprised of competence, management of the organization, changes and monitoring, management of the handbook and procedures, organization handbook, monitoring process, etc.
After the audit, GMF DOA received numbers of recommendations for improvements including to complete at least 15 products that applied in EASA certificate. “The due date is until the end of November 2015,” said Irfansyah as Head of Design Organization of GMF.
GMF DOA has obtained EASA approval on November 20th 2014. The approval consisted of privilege minor change and minor repair design on aircrafts in the field of structure, avionics installation, interior cabin, and electrical system. With this approval, GMF DOA can create designs that concern minor changes and repairs for the mentioned works for B737-NG, B747, B777, A330, CRJ 1000, and ATR72-600 aircrafts.
The approval makes GMF DOA becomes the first design organization and the one and only in Indonesia that has gained recognition from EASA. “The EASA approval must be sustained,” said Irfansyah. GMF DOA capability will continue to be improved until it has the capability to make major change and major repair design in compliance with EASA regulations. This measure is aligned with GMF’s vision to be a World Class MRO.
