The Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) market potencies in Asia Pacific look more promising, as it will be predicted to be the largest market in the world in 2018.”The Asia Pacific market will replace North America market as the largest in the world,” said President & CEO of GMF AeroAsia, Richard Budihadianto at the 15th Annual MRO Asia-Pacific Conference and Exhibition in Singapore on November 3rd – 5th, 2015.
The President & CEO of GMF AeroAsia was chosen as the Chairman of the 15th Annual MRO Asia Pacific Conference and Exhibition, organized by the Aviation Week Magazine. Besides the Chairman, he was also stand as the panelist alongside Ian Wolfe, Senior Advisor of Engineering and Fleet Management of Cebu Pacific Air and Jeffrey lam, COO of ST Aerospace.
Mr. Richard said that MRO market potencies brought big challenges in availability of infrastructure and logistic sector, especially for manpower. Globally, it needs 584,000 peoples for technicians and engineers on the next 20 years, and 224,000 engineers will be needed in Asia Pacific Region. “Specifically for Indonesia, it needs more than 12,000 engineers on the next 20 years,” he said. Furthermore, at the infrastructure sector, it will be needed more hangars and workshops. “Finding the locations and spaces is a matter,” Mr. Richard said.
In the conference, Richard was also looking for cooperation opportunities with other parties’ such as airlines, vendors, MRO and investors. “Aircraft maintenance market potencies in Indonesia are very big and we need cooperation with other parties,” he said.
