GMF AeroAsia successfully completed the landing gear full ship set of B737-NG owned by Eastar Jet. It was completed in September 2017 and became the first landing gear full ship set overhaul experience for non – Garuda Indonesia’s customer. This project was performed since early August 2017, it consists of several steps such as preliminary inspection, disassembly, cleaning and striping, inspection, repair, reassembly, testing, finishing and return to service.
Iwan Rudiana Setiawan as Manager Production Engineering, Planning & Control GMF, said that according to Eastar Jet agreement, this TAT from this project was 50 days. Currently, GMF capabilities is on level 2 for B737-NG overhaul landing gear. Nevertheless, GMF AeroAsia will aims to move to level 3 or full in-house capability next year. To acquire in-house capability, GMF is building B737-NG overhaul facilities and improve the manpower capability through training.
