GMF Together with Directorate General of Customs and Excise and Bonded Logistics Center Association Conduct Bonded Logistics Center Workshop

Tangerang, November 29, 2017 – PT Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia Tbk., (GMF) in cooperation with Directorate General of Customs and Excise Ministry of Finance Republic of Indonesia and Bonded Logistic Center Association conduct Bonded Logistics Center Workshop at Mercure Hotel Ballroom Alam Sutera (29/11). The first event after GMF officially became the Bonded Logistics Center aims to provide more comprehensive information on the concepts and techniques of the Bonded Logistic Center, as well as knowing directly the needs of the facility users, particularly those related to Logistic and Bonded Services.

The event was attended by Sub Directorate Head of Bonded Zone of Customs Facility, Tatang Yuliono, Head of Prime Customs & Excise Type C Soekarno Hatta Office, Erwin Situmorang, Head of the Bonded Logistic Center Association (PPLBI), Ety Puspitasari and various representatives from Airlines, Suppliers, and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).
GMF President & CEO, Iwan Joeniarto, said that the event is a valuable opportunity where all parties can directly listen to the benefits of Bonded Logistic Center facilities from the experts. “The event that we held today brings the benefits directly to the users of Aviation Bonded Logistic Center facility, to deeply understand how this facility can bring great benefits to its users,” said Iwan.

Iwan added that since it was inaugurated as Bonded Logistic Center by Minister of Finance on October 19th 2016, GMF has provided one stop solution for aviation logistic and trading through the provision of shipping arrangement, customs brokerage and warehouse management services available 24 hours supported by IT based inventory management and competitive pricing. “The Bonded Logistic Center is expected to encourage GMF to become a hub of aircraft component logistic in Indonesia, and to make GMF a total solution maintenance provider through providing integrated aircraft maintenance solutions to customers,” said Iwan. In addition, Iwan also said that the existence of PLB for GMF has several advantages for the aviation industry players, such as the ease of hoarding activities become simpler. “Aviation industry players will get suspension of import duties and taxes if transactions are made within the Bonded Logistic Center,” he added.

Meanwhile, Sub Directorate Head of Bonded Zone of Customs Facility, Tatang Yuliono considers this workshop to be the right step in maximizing facility utilization which has been given by Directorate General of Customs and Excise to GMF. “As the sole owner of PLB Aviation facilities in Indonesia, it is an excellent opportunity for GMF to develop and promote its business to potential customers, through the similar events,” Tatang said.

Logistic Service Cooperation

On the same occasion, GMF was represented by Director of Base Operation, Rahmat Hanafi signed a memorandum of understanding for GMF Logistic Service with PT Air Indonesia, as well as total care logistic support cooperation agreement with PT Sriwijaya Air, PT Airfast Indonesia and PT Kalimasada Pusaka. This total care logistic support cooperation agreement covers export, import and distribution services; customs brokerage, and Bonded Logistic Center.
GMF Base Operations Director Rahmat Hanafi said that through a comprehensive logistic service, as well as flexibility and ease of hoarding activities, this cooperation is expected to be able to accelerate the availability needs of aircraft components, and minimize turn around time (TAT). Rahmat also said that with the increasing number of cooperation in the field of logistic services, it will increase GMF’s revenue from non-affiliated. It will also have an impact on the company’s revenue target by the end of 2017 of $ 424 million. “We hope that with this cooperation agreement, the utilization of PLB GMF facilities will be maximal, and with the holding of the event on this day will attract potential customers to enjoy our facilities,” lid Rahmat.
