Jakarta, October 18, 2019 – PT Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia Tbk. (GMF) and Intraco Ltd., a multinational company based in Bangladesh, collaborated in business expansion of joint operation development in line maintenance services in Bangladesh. The commitment was marked by memorandum of understanding signed by GMF President Director, Tazar Marta Kurniawan, and Intraco Ltd. CEO, Mohammed Riyad Ali. Rina P. Soemarno, Indonesian Ambassador for Bangladesh, also witnessed the signing held at 2019 Trade Expo Indonesia at ICE BSD (10/18). Through this collaboration, GMF is committed to provide line maintenance services, targeting domestic and international airlines operating in Bangladesh and South Asia regional. Meanwhile, Intraco Ltd. is committed to assist supporting facilities provision for GMF for line maintenance services expansion needs.
GMF President Director, Tazar Marta Kurniawan, said that through this strategic partnership, GMF further introduced its international footprint in southern Asian region. “This strategic partnership with Intraco Ltd. is part of sustainable business expansion strategy implemented by GMF in broadening its international market share”.
Tazar added that the company strives to increase its revenue portfolio through a variety of key markets by venturing into international markets, including the one with Intraco Ltd. “We are always committed to getting closer to our customers, one of which is partnership with Intraco Ltd. Through the expansion of GMF service network in Bangladesh, we aim to bring GMF services closer to our customers in South Asia. ”
This agreement is a continuation of GMF’s participation in Indonesia Fair in Dhaka last April, where on that occasion, GMF through Indonesian Embassy for Bangladesh held meetings with numerous Bangladesh companies and domestic institutions. Tazar revealed, “GMF’s business expansion is continuously accelerated by developing capacity and capability in aligning market trends and demand”. GMF is optimistic that business expansion to this India-bordering country will fetch positive response from the national aviation industry sector.
Tazar said that his party has opened wide opportunities for aircraft maintenance industry support sector to partner – both in business development and strategic cooperation – which is currently being optimized with international partners. “Through strategic collaboration with Intraco Ltd., we hope to further support GMF business growth acceleration in the future, and realize the company’s vision to become Top 10 MRO in the world,” Tazar concluded.
In accordance with GMF’s capacity and strategic expansion building, in September 2019, GMF succeeded in securing the Top 9 Global Airframe MRO of the Year 2019 award. This award was given considering GMF had successfully penetrated ± 3.2 Million Manhour Slots, according to survey also hosted by Aviation Week.
