Tangerang, November 6, 2019 – PT Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia Tbk., (GMF) inaugurated the New Maintenance Control Center (MCC) facility, as a form of company’s commitment to accelerate optimization of its performance services, especially in line maintenance business. The MCC area – previously resided in GMF Hangar 2 – is now settled in Hangar 4, the largest hangar in the world for narrow body aircraft, to optimize these supporting facilities needs. Armed with the latest technology, GMF continuously innovates to always ensure the airworthiness of maintained fleet.
GMF President Director, Tazar Marta Kurniawan, expressed, this facility’s renewal is in accordance with company’s customer service commitment to further optimize Total Solution Maintenance, namely customers who fully entrust their aircraft maintenance to GMF. “With the increasing number of maintained aircraft, we certainly pay close attention to all supporting facilities to render excellent service, especially the MCC – which is the heart of Line Maintenance,” Tazar said.
The new MCC facility is also equipped with digital technology features development that increase aircraft maintenance services optimization in a comprehensive manner: from the aspect of time and cost effectiveness, to the service quality.
Currently, GMF’s MCC has been equipped with video conference, which facilitates maintenance process in terms of findings verification – particularly for outstation work. With video conferencing technology, GMF no longer has to send manpower troubleshooters to the outstation, which aids to maximize budget efficiency and working time effectiveness to achieve efficient aircraft maintenance. Furthermore, through this new facility, GMF also presents the Mobile Tech Log application that allows technicians to access and input maintenance records of each aircraft in real time to minimize input data errors.
MCC is a vital supporting facility for the aircraft’s light maintenance line, which operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure the aircraft is airworthy. MCC has essential duty to continually monitor aircraft conditions in real-time from technical side, so the data can later be recommended to airlines as reference for selected routes.
Shortly, with this world-class facility, Tazar is optimistic that he will be able to develop line maintenance sector by adding to the list of Total Solution Maintenance customers. “With more than 1000 flights handled every day, there are great challenges to being able to work flawlessly. For that reason, we always innovate to give the best to our customers,” Tazar said.

This event was organized by BUMN Track magazine with “Beyond Innovation on Branding & Marketing” theme, on November 5, 2019 at the Ritz-Carlton Ballroom Mega Kuningan, Jakarta. After successfully passing initial jury selection led by Prof. Rhenald Kasali, Ph.D., through questionnaire and material presentation, GMF succeeded in bringing home The Best Brand Strategy award in BUMN subsidiary category, The Best International Collaboration for Branding & Marketing category in BUMN subsidiary category, and The Best Marketing in BUMN subsidiary category.
