GMF Finished Maintenance of Presidential Flight Yemenia Airways


GMF AeroAsia (Garuda Indonesia Group) succeeded in finishing a C-Check maintenance and interior modification program for Yemenia’s presidential aircraft, Presidential Flight Yemenia Airways. The B747-400, with registration 7O-YMN started its maintenance on May 4 2009, and re-delivery to Yemen Airways as the aircraft operator on Saturday, June 9 2009.

GMF has an agreement with Yemen Airways to maintain Yemenia’s presidential flight since 2003. This B747-SP is the fourt aircraft of Yemen presidential flight that was sent to GMF. Yemenia’s VVIP flight regularly undergo C-Check every 18 months.

Besides sending its aircraft to GMF, Yemenia also send other component of VVIP flight to GMF, such as B727-300. The maintenance was carried out based according to agreed turn around time.

”We thank God, that our technicians work fulfilled Yemenia demand”, Mr. Richard Budihadianto – CEO GMF AeroAsia – stated.

In addition to maintaining the presidential flight, five technicians took the opportunity of being in GMF to also be trainined to maintain the B747-SP. The training was timed to finish on June 6 2009. One of the trainee was the Director of Presidential Flight Yemenia Airways, Mr. Ahmed Al-Haddad, who was trained at the first stage on February 16 – March 21 2009.

The subject matter convered in B747-SP training, included General Servicing, Structure & Doors, Equipment & Furnishing Cargo, Oxygen Water, Waste Compartment, Hydraulic Power, Landing Gear, Flight Control, Electrical & Fligh t Communications, Intsruments, Navigation, Autopilot, Pneumatic, Air Conditioning & Presseurization. Other subject matters were Ice & Rain Protection, Fuel System, APU, Fire Protection, and Power Plant System.

Mr. Ahmed Al-Haddad, stated that Yemenia was satisfied with GMF’s maintenance standard. ”We were satisfied with GMF’s works, and we have length experience with GMF”, Mr. Al-Hadad stated. The satisfaction also extended to the training on the B747-SP. ”The training enhanced our informations and skill”.

According to Mr. Ahmed Al-Haddad, the maintenance and training agreements are exceptionally beneficial to GMF and Yemenia since Yemenia is pleased with the services it received from GMF which are competitive and punctual.
