GMF Continues C-130 Fleet Modernization with Its Fifth CWBR Project, A-1316

Tangerang, September 18th 2026 —PT Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia Tbk (GMF) continues its commitment to supporting the modernization of the Ministry of Defense’s C-130 fleet. GMF has received a C-130 Hercules aircraft with tail number A-1316 to undergo Center Wing Box Replacement (CWBR). The aircraft departed from Abdurrachman Saleh Air Force Base, Malang, and arrived at GMF on Tuesday (09/15), where the handover was formalized through the signing of the Handover Minutes by GMF Production Division Head of SBU Defense Industry, Imam Solikhin, and the Ministry of Defense’s Senior Procurement Officer (PPBJ Madya) at the Center for Defense Equipment and Materials, Colonel Kal. Ronny Syah Faiza, M.Han.

The arrival of A-1316 marks the fifth C-130 CWBR project performed by GMF out of a total of eight planned aircraft. With the arrival of A-1316, three C-130 aircraft are currently undergoing maintenance at GMF’s Hangar 4.

At the handover ceremony, C-130 Modernization Task Force, Commander Air Vice Marshal TNI Arif Djoko Nugroho, S.T., expressed his appreciation for GMF’s contribution to maintaining squadron readiness through the C-130 modernization program. Drawing on GMF’s previous experience in CWBR projects, he expressed his expectation that the work on A-1316 would be completed on schedule. In response, GMF reaffirmed its commitment to continuously supporting aircraft readiness across the respective squadrons, while further improving work quality and shortening lead times.

The continuation of the C-130 CWBR project forms part of GMF’s contribution to strengthening Indonesia’s defense industry self-reliance. Its implementation also reflects the synergy between GMF, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia, and the Indonesian Air Force in optimizing domestic industry capabilities to support the maintenance and modernization of defense equipment.
