Tangerang, September 9th, 2021 – PT Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia Tbk ("GMF", ticker code: "GMFI') signed a memorandum of understanding with PT Sulzer Indonesia (Sulzer). Located at GMF Hangar 4, the memorandum of understanding was signed by GMF CEO Andi Fahrurrozi and Sulzer President Director Kadek Agus Susena. Through this memorandum of understanding, both parties agreed to explore collaboration opportunities in the fields of industrial and aero-derivative turbine maintenance, engineering services, and component repair and maintenance. This collaboration also opens up the opportunity for marketing and logistics cooperation.

In his speech, Andi said that the synergy with Sulzer is one of the Company's business diversification measures to gradually develop the promising industrial services segment that is projected to grow in the next few years. This measure is taken to help compensate for the uncertain aviation industry. Moreover, aero-derivative gas turbines also have similar working principles compared to aircraft engines. "Until now, GMF's revenue is still mainly contributed by the commercial aviation sector. To increase business volume and market absorption in industrial services, we are focusing on strengthening the internal process and collaborating with partners," said Andi.

On this occasion, Susena hoped that the signing of this memorandum of understanding will create a fruitful collaboration in the fields of industrial and aero-derivative turbine maintenance, engineering services, component repair and maintenance, and logistics. Each party has its own expertise which, when combined together, encourages business development and increases customer’s share of wallets.

Sulzer is a global player engaged in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of rotating equipment, including gas and steam turbines, compressors, generators, pumps, and motors. On the other hand, GMF has capabilities in the field of mini gas turbines, aero-derivative gas turbines, and generators as well as Bonded Logistics Center facility which offers flexibility to import faster and more efficiently, as well as benefitting the cash flow. Marketing cooperation also allows both parties to synergize in expanding market reach. "This cooperation provides a strategic opportunity for both parties to contribute actively in reaching domestic and foreign markets more efficiently by maximizing each other's capabilities and expertise to support economic acceleration. Through this cooperation, we are expected to strengthen the synergy between both parties," said Susena.

In the long run, this collaboration is also expected to facilitate the development of new capabilities to drive market penetration into the light turbine segment. The segment is considered potential because it is not yet optimized. In addition, GMF and Sulzer also plan to digitize the monitoring system and create predictive maintenance for customers, making it easier to predict the timing and corrective actions based on turbine conditions.
