Singapore, September 25th 2026 — PT Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia Tbk (GMF), part of the Garuda Indonesia Group, is strengthening its maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) business and services across the Asia Pacific region through a series of strategic partnerships and new aircraft maintenance projects announced at MRO Asia-Pacific 2026, held at Singapore EXPO on (09/23-24).

Strategic Partnerships
During the event, GMF strengthened a number of strategic partnerships with key players across the aviation industry.
Together with FTAI Aviation Ltd. (FTAI), a U.S.-based company specializing in aircraft engine, GMF is establishing a long-term partnership to develop engine and APU maintenance business opportunities across the Asia Pacific region. The initial scope covers CFM56-5B and CFM56-7B engines, as well as GTCP131-9 series APUs, with capacity allocation secured for FTAI over the next five years.

GMF also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT VELA Prima Nusantara, an Indonesian manufacturing and Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) development company, to explore GMF’s potential role as an MRO Approved Facility for Vela Alpha. The advanced air mobility aircraft utilizes electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) and hybrid Vertical Take-Off and Landing (hVTOL) technologies. The collaboration will explore facility readiness, technical capabilities, as well as development and certification support.

With, AerOne Techniques Pte Ltd, a company specializing in the management and distribution of aircraft and engine components, including used serviceable material, repair management, and Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA), GMF is exploring opportunities to develop PMA capabilities. The initiative forms part of GMF’s efforts to expand aircraft component development and production, potentially providing airlines and operators with broader parts options tailored to market needs.
