Bali, September 18th, 2024 PT Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia Tbk (GMF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Arta Hanggar Indonesia (AHI) to develop aircraft maintenance facilities at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport. This strategic agreement was signed during GMF's participation in the Bali Air Show and was witnessed by Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Presidential Chief of Staff, Moeldoko, and Air Force Chief of Staff Marshal M. Tonny Harjono.

GMF's CEO, Andi Fahrurrozi, stated that this cooperation is part of GMF's expansion plan to enhance domestic aircraft maintenance service capacity.

"This collaboration is an important step in expanding our aircraft maintenance services. The facility at Halim Perdanakusuma will allow us to better serve both national and regional airlines, while also increasing our maintenance capacity and strengthening GMF's capabilities. With hangar operations expected to commence in mid-2025, we are committed to playing a larger role in the development of aviation maintenance infrastructure in Indonesia," Andi said.

The hangar construction is currently underway and is expected to be completed by the end of 2024. After that, a certification process will be conducted in accordance with relevant authority standards.

At the same event, AHI's CEO, Erick Hartanto, welcomed the cooperation and highlighted the benefits it will bring to the aviation industry in Indonesia.

"We are proud to collaborate directly with GMF, a leading national company. Going forward, we will enhance the development climate in the aviation sector. Thus, airlines will no longer need to go to neighbouring countries for maintenance, as services will be available in Indonesia," Erick stated.

Both companies hope that this partnership will contribute to strengthening Indonesia's position as a trusted aircraft maintenance hub in Southeast Asia.
