Jakarta, January 23rd, 2025 - PT Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia Tbk (GMF), a subsidiary of Garuda Indonesia specializing in aircraft maintenance, has achieved a significant milestone by obtaining the Part-145 Maintenance Organisation certification from the UK Civil Aviation Authority (UK CAA). This achievement makes GMF currently the only aircraft maintenance service provider (MRO) in the region to achieve this prestigious certification. This accomplishment not only solidifies GMF’s position as a world-class aircraft maintenance service provider but also paves the way for strategic expansion into European and global markets. With this recognition, GMF is now at the forefront of delivering MRO solutions that meet the highest international standards.

This certification not only recognizes GMF's high standards but is also a strategic move designed to support the needs of customers with UK registrations. Several aircraft with UK registrations are scheduled to enter maintenance at GMF in the second and third quarters of this year, so this certification is key to providing services that meet international regulations and standards.

The UK CAA certification authorizes GMF to maintain Boeing 747-400 and 777-200/300 aircraft for line and base maintenance scopes of work, GE90-100 series engines (up to split built up), as well as various components such as air conditioning systems, flight controls, and landing gear. Specialized Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) services are also part of GMF's expertise, including Eddy Current, ultrasonic, and other technologies.

This certification also emphasized GMF’s technical excellence in ensuring aircraft safety and operational efficiency. GMF CEO, Andi Fahrurrozi, said “The recognition from the UK CAA, one of the most respected authorities in the world, is a great achievement for us. This certification reflects our dedication in maintaining quality, safety, and global trust. We believe this step is a strategic momentum to expand our international market reach, especially in Europe, while strengthening Indonesia’s position as a major player in the world aviation industry.”

Furthermore, this certification underscores GMF’s readiness to support the transformation of the aviation industry towards a more sustainable and efficient future. Through high-quality services that focus on safety and reliability, GMF hopes to become a trusted partner for global airlines seeking world-class MRO solutions.

Looking forward, GMF is committed to maintaining its world-recognized quality standards and supporting the growth of the global aviation industry. “With this certification, GMF is optimistic that it can strengthen relationships with global customers, increase their satisfaction, and answer the evolving needs of the industry,” Andi concluded.
