GMF and PLN Batam Continue Strategic Synergy for Normalisation of PLTG MPP Tello Makassar

Tangerang, June 3rd 2025 – PT Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia Tbk (GMF) and PT PLN Batam re-established collaboration in the Tello Makassar Mobile Power Plant (MPP) Normalisation Procurement project, which was officially signed on Monday (05/26) at the Tentrem Hotel Jakarta, Tangerang. The signing was conducted by GMF CEO, Andi Fahrurrozi, and Senior Manager UBBES PT PLN Batam, Yuli Tri Setyono. 

The project includes a normalisation programme for TM2500+ G4 generating units, which have previously been part of the technical collaboration between GMF and PLN Batam, including for units in Tarahan and Tello. Under the normalisation project, which will last for 120 calendar days, GMF’s services include light to medium repairs to TM2500+ G4 engines at the Tello site, Makassar and GMF workshop facilities.

Moreover, GMF will also address the technical challenges faced by PLN Batam, particularly in terms of limited support from the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), such as the long delivery time of spare parts and the lack of availability of repair slots at OEM facilities.

GMF CEO, Andi Fahrurrozi, stated, “The continuous trust given by PLN Batam to GMF is proof that the capability of the nation’s in the gas turbine industry is increasingly recognised. This is a motivation for us to continue to provide the best service, especially amid the challenges of limited support from global OEMs.”

By inaugurating this project, GMF and PLN Batam hope to contribute to increasing the reliability of electricity supply in the Sulawesi region which is still limited. This collaboration is also a concrete step in strengthening the national electricity system through the utilization of superior and competitive domestic capacity.
